Summary of this tutorial:
First thing you need to do is install and activate the Remember Me plugin. Once active you want to visit Settings, Remember Me to configure the settings.
There are a number of ways to set up the remembering login from the default for all logins or just admin. You can also allow users to check the remember me box to be included in the new duration.
The number of days you can keep a user logged in can be changed to however long you like. Users can still log out if they like and once they do they will need to log in again.
You should not check the remember me checkbox if you are accessing your site from a public or shared computer for safety.
