By default, WordPress shows error messages whenever a incorrect username or password is used on the login page. These error messages can be used as a hint to guess a username, email address, or password. In this video we will show you how to disable login hints in WordPress login error messages.

For most users the login hints will not be a big issue. If you are trying to be cautious about privacy and security then this could be what you are looking to do.
Go under Appearance, Editor and select your theme’s functions or the functions.php. Then add the code from:
